Allende Arts Space is a creative haven offering live/work studios, visiting artist residencies, classes and workshops in beautiful San Miguel de Allende, Mexico – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a creative mecca for artists, musicians and writers.

About Us

Allende Arts Space was founded in 2025. The 3,000 square foot building features a large atrium for classes and workshops, with four working studios for local artists and two live/work spaces for visiting artists in residence. As part of this vibrant community, you can push the boundaries of your creative potential and draw inspiration from others nearby who are always searching for new ways to explore, express and master their craft. 

Kato Rempel, SFCA is Founder of Allende Arts Space. A Vancouver, BC Canada native and Senior member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, she has 3 decades of experience in graphic design and is a seasoned expat who has lived in the Maldives, Sri Lanka, India and Mexico. Kato has taught drawing and painting, hosted life drawing sessions and organized numerous art shows in multiple countries. Jim Kraus is a former Creative Director and fine artist working with paint and recycled wood sculpture. An American expat from Detroit, Michigan, Jim has lived and worked in collaborative art studios in Saint Louis, San Diego, Dallas and San Miguel de Allende, his home for the past nine years.
