Allende Arts Space is a creative haven offering live/work studios, visiting artist residencies, classes and workshops in beautiful San Miguel de Allende, Mexico – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a creative mecca for artists, musicians and writers.

Along with a diverse group of artists from across the globe, you’ll experience a calm and comfortable place, free from the distractions of daily life, where you can practice, learn and grow in whatever creative path you choose.
Allende Arts Space features a large atrium for workshops, four working studios for local artists and three art residencies. As part of this vibrant community, you can derive inspiration from others here who are searching for new ways to master their craft.

Residencies
Our Artist Residencies offer the perfect sanctuary to free yourself from the demands of daily life and unleash your artistic brilliance in a supportive and engaging community. Here, visual artists, musicians and writers have ample space, time and freedom to focus on their work and engage in the larger community of San Miguel de Allende, where they can enjoy gallery tours, openings, music venues and a myriad of other cultural, social, and artistic opportunities.

Meet the Team

FounderKato Rempel, SFCA is Founder of Allende Arts Space. A Vancouver, BC Canada native and Senior member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, she has 3 decades of experience in graphic design and is a seasoned expat who has lived in the Maldives, Sri Lanka, India and Mexico. Kato has taught drawing and painting, hosted life drawing sessions and organized numerous art shows in multiple countries. Her passion for discovery drives her to embrace challenges and seek other creatives who want to grow and learn along with her. Learn More

A former Creative Director and fine artist working with paint and recycled wood sculpture. An American expat from Detroit, Michigan, Jim has lived and worked in collaborative art studios in Saint Louis, San Diego, Dallas and San Miguel de Allende, his home for the past nine years.
